well-being qigong Instructor
author & facilatator
What a beautiful albeit sometimes up and down journey life is and how incredibly humbling and honoring it is to be of service along the way.
I absolutely love facilitating groups and becoming a qigong instructor is my latest facilitative way to be of service.
My vision is to create a vibrant and supportive qigong community that also gives back. A portion of the class fees goes to a local charity.
Please reach out to me to see when the next qigong sessions are or if you have any questions about needing a facilitator for your group!

Donna and her journey
With over four decades dedicated to working in mental health, combined with a Master's in Education in Adult and Workplace Learning, my passion revolves around nurturing the holistic well-being of body, mind, and spirit. I am in one of my best elements when engaging and facilitating with beautiful groups of humans.
I am super excited for my newest facilitative adventure as an qigong instructor. I was first introduced to qigong 25 years ago and have been practicing sporadically ever since. During the pandemic and working in health care the need for continual practicing of qigong reemerged for me as a way to revitalize my health and decrease stress. I also felt called to become a qigong instructor and to share qigong’s health benefits with other people.
I am humbled and honored to share the simple and powerful practice of qigong. It is an ancient mind body practice with the deepest roots in traditional Chinese medicine.
The term “qigong” is a combination of two words: "qi," which means “subtle breath” or “vital energy,” and "gong," which translates to “skill cultivated through steady practice.” Pronounced “Chee gong.”
Together, the words describe an age-old practice that optimizes energy through the power of breath, movement, and intention setting to create health and balance within the body, spirit and mind. Qigong is complementary medicine that is suitable for everyone. However, it is good practice to always seek medical advice before embarking upon any exercise program.
Benifits of Qigong
Qigong, an ancient Chinese practice, offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Here are some of its key advantages:
Improved Physical Health: Qigong exercises involve gentle movements, breathing techniques, and meditation, which can enhance circulation, flexibility, and balance. Regular practice may help in reducing chronic pain, improving digestion, and strengthening the immune system.
Stress Reduction: Qigong incorporates deep breathing and relaxation techniques that can lower stress levels and promote a sense of calmness. It helps to release tension from the body and mind, fostering mental clarity and emotional stability.
Enhanced Energy Levels: Qigong aims to balance the flow of qi (life energy) throughout the body. By harmonizing the body's energy, practitioners often report feeling more energized and revitalized.
Better Mental Focus: The meditative aspect of qigong encourages mindfulness and concentration. Regular practice can sharpen mental focus, increase awareness, and improve cognitive function.
Emotional Balance: Qigong practices can help regulate emotions by cultivating a greater sense of inner peace and emotional resilience. It promotes a positive outlook on life and aids in managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Improved Posture and Alignment: Many qigong exercises focus on body alignment and posture, which can alleviate muscular tension and promote proper spinal alignment. This leads to better overall posture and reduces the risk of developing musculoskeletal problems.
Support for Chronic Conditions: Qigong has been shown to complement conventional medical treatments for various chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. It can help manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and support overall health and well-being.
Increased Vitality and Longevity: Through its holistic approach to health and wellness, qigong aims to promote longevity and vitality by harmonizing the body, mind, and spirit. Practitioners often report feeling more youthful and resilient as they continue their practice over time.
Community and Social Connection: Qigong is often practiced in groups or classes, providing opportunities for social interaction and community support. Sharing the experience with others can enhance motivation, accountability, and overall enjoyment of the practice.
Overall, the benefits of qigong extend beyond just physical health, encompassing mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Its gentle yet powerful practices offer a holistic approach to cultivating harmony and balance in life.
